Meet M.C. Reyes
Founder / President
Marielys Camacho-Reyes, MS, CAMHFA, CYMHFA, TCC is an Army Veteran, a retired Army Wife, a storyteller, and the Founder and President of the Compassionate Hearts UNITED Foundation, Inc.
Marielys holds a Master of Science in Psychology and is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Psychology with a specialization in Social Psychology, focusing on Prosocial Behavior.
Marielys was selected as one of the recipients of the 2021 Spirit of Community Award presented by the Florida Commision of the Status of Women, the 2020 Winner of The Spirit of Philanthropy Award presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Polk County Chapter and the GiveWell Foundation, as well as the "2019 Veteran of the Year" for the City of Haines City for her support and dedication to her community.
Marielys is a Certified Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aider with the National Council of Behavioral Health and a Bilingual Crisis Counselor with the Crisis Text Line.
Marielys' recent book Cleaning Out My Closet: My Road from Self-Discovery to Emotional Healing is currently available in Amazon and Walmart.
She currently lives in Haines City, FL with her family.
Meet Nasif Ahamed
Nasif Ahmed became The Northeast Polk Gazette's cartoonist the moment the newspaper started. He is a Bangladeshi cartoonist who is also a staff artist at the Daily Janakantha. His cartoons have been published in many international cartoon magazines such as Toonsmag, Mercusuar, United Sketch, among others.
Nasif has been drawing cartoons for dailies for more than seven years. Before starting his career as a full-time cartoonist, Nasif worked almost two years as a freelance cartoonist in the monthly satire magazine Unmad and Daily Alokito Bangladesh. Nowadays, Nasif works for Unmad Magazine occasionally.

Meet Edwin Camacho-Alcazar
(Puerto Rico Region)
Edwin, born in Manati, Puerto Rico is our new Lead Operations Representative for the Region of Puerto Rico. He comes to us with vast experience in the logistic area. He is joining us in hopes of furthering our charity program, by strengthening the relationship between our organization and the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.
